Located on the water of CELEBES SEA (Laut SULU), ScubaJeff Home-stay in Mabul is a humble, scenic water platform house, build on stilts rising out of the water, providing a panoramic view of nothing but the ocean and clusters of islands on the horizon. Every evening, you’ll have the dinner served just after the golden sun has settled down in the unrestricted panorama view.

Scubajeff Home-stay is owned and daily managed by Zaidi Burok familiarly known as Jeff among close friends. Jeff a joyous and full of zest for life character spent his childhood as a Budak Minang from Felda Palong, Negeri Sembilan. Jeff was later stationed to Mabul Island where he served at the General Operation Force, Mabul Division for more than 10 years. Jeff decades of assimilation with the local Bajau tribes and other immigrants from the neighboring Philippine settlement has earned him respect among the local folks and community. Jeff is able to converse and write fluently in Sulu, Bajau, Tagalog, Sabah and English and has settle down in Mabul ever since.
Jeff passion for enjoying good food and his past working experience in the F&B department at the hospitality industries never seem to fail the expectations from the food-loving guest.
In the house, there are several rooms with comfortable double beds, a fan to keep you cool at night and big windows with a view allowing a breeze from the ocean to keep everything nice and chilled. There are shared toilets, where you can shower with a traditional “mandi” (a bucket of fresh water) or you can use the outside shower – whilst enjoying the view of the ocean.

If you’re not out Diving or Snorkeling, ScubaJeff Homestay is the perfect place to just hang out and suck in the feeling of real Malaysian island living. Just out the back, you’ll find the enchanting local village, full of life, flowers and extremely friendly villagers.
